This powerful and sweet Millennium has found a new home, if you are a fan of Tom's guitars and are looking for a good one, please contact me... Ah Tom, you rascal, you are no doubt 'out there' somewhere probably building harps now!! I miss you man. Tom was a wildly inventive builder, hence the Millennium, but even within the Millennium style he experimented widely. Sometimes an experiment would be a bit of a 'miss' but it would take him in a new direction, other times it would be a 'hit' and when that happened he made magic, truly. This is one of those "magic" guitars that Tom built, the kind that at one point in time, had more concert and recording artists playing a Humphrey than the guitars of any other single builder. This guitar reminds me of the stellar Cedar Humphrey that Tom built for Bill Kanengiser, it is very nicely 'open' and wonderfully played in, and when played it oozes a quality that is almost impossible to describe and that is found in only the best Millennium guitars, I literally don't know what words to use! I do know this, if you love Tom's guitars, as so many do, this guitar is one that you would categorize as special among even really good Millenniums. I really love the character of this voice, can you tell? The guitar is lattice braced cedar and rosewood back and sides, it is what Tom used to call the "Assad Model" as it has the same maple center piece on the back as their guitars and the construction is inspired by their music. Tom built very few Assad Model's and they have always been in high demand. The owner reports he had the top re polished and the work is excellent, I can vouch for the fact that the sound and performance are superior, a well done re polish. The guitar looks near new and the owner reports no repairs. Mainly this is just simply one of the more beautiful Humphrey guitars I have had in the shop, up there with the very best Tom ever made, and I saw and heard more Humphrey's probably than anybody besides Tom. If you have ever entertained the hope of owning a fine Humphrey one day, this could be the guitar you had in mind.
