Dammann's invention of the double top guitar in the 80's permanently changed the future trajectory of the Classical Guitar. Over the decades, as more and more of the finest players and concert and recording artists continued to find that playing a Dammann allowed them the artistic freedom they demanded, Dammann guitars have quite simply become the most desired concert guitar in the world. With Dammann's waiting list extending many years into the future, and his low annual production of perhaps 6 or 7 guitars, has made obtaining a new Dammann a lengthy challenge. So when a fine, near new Dammann becomes available like this, it commands a lot of interest. This guitar was treasured by a client of mine for several years while he was awaiting the arrival of his new Dammann. Fortunately for him ( and for the next lucky owner of this guitar) his new Dammann arrived finally this year, and so, as was his plan all along, he will now allow this guitar to inspire another player as he enjoys his new baby. The guitar is in superb condition, really near new and is an extremely fine Dammann. I have expressed my gratitude before that I probably get to see/hear/play more Dammann guitars than anybody but Matthias himself, and I believe I know and understand his guitars quite well. This is a superb Dammann. The oft cited 'Cello-like basses and bell like trebles" are of course present, as is the beautiful, haunting tonal character and full concert level volume and projection that have created such legions of Dammann fans around the globe. Just a delightful instrument, and absolutely gorgeous as well.
