Robert Ruck is a talented Flamenco player and of course one of the worlds finest luthiers. He travels to Spain as often as he can to study Flamenco with Gerardo Nunez and Bob really 'understands' what players want from a Flamenco guitar. This is a special Ruck, to my knowledge the only actual bench copy he made of a Marcelo Barbero Blanca that Robert owned. Before he sold the Barbero he gathered his oldest woods and built an exact copy of his Barbero, right down to the headstock. Recently new frets were placed and the French Polish was touched up in a few places. When the guitar was being built the old Cypress developed a crack which Robert cleated and it has been stable ever since 1995.

The guitar is perfect for anybody who has ever dreamed of owning a Barbero but just could not fit the high cost of owning one into their budget. This is as close to a perfect Barbero copy as you can find and very well priced especially considering what you are getting. The guitar is very evocative of a fine Barbero in every way, from the look to the action and even the 'feel' of it against your body, likewise with the tone, crisp basses and bright clear trebles that have been well played in and are very open.

A one-of-a-kind Blanca for the player looking for something very special.
