This guitar is in new condition and is essentially Madimenos’s own version of essentially a Greg Smallman guitar. The guitar has a lot of heft to it, like a Smallman and Madimenos has added his own inner structure to compliment the Smallman style lattice bracing of the light cedar top. The back and sides are also Smallman like in the sense that it is multi-layerd with a Wenge inner and an outer of Cocobolo. Also in the Smallman vein is a nice arm rest. The effect is very reminiscent of a Smallman in both feel and power and tone. it is heavier than most classical guitars, as is Smallman, Powerful, has a nice well balanced voice and is confortable to play. Madimenos succeeds in following the Smallman school, but bringing his own ‘flavor’ to the build. The workmanship and attention to detail are very good, the Pagos tuners are nice and the buttons blend well with the lovely rosette and the tone of the cocobolo on the back. If you have always wanted a Smallman style guitar but at a fraction of the price, this is a great option for you.
