With every guitar Michel continues to demonstrate why he is considered one of a very small group considered to be the best double top builders in the world. As the worlds leading dealer in double tops for many years now I have admittedly highly critical standards. I am offered the opportunity to work with many double top builders, but only a handful have been able to consistently create the level of guitar that ranks as the finest in the world. Michel is one of those gifted luthiers. Little wonder that artists such as Tatyana Ryzhkova play his double tops and that his wait list stretches beyond a decade now. The word is out.

This guitar is what I like to think of as a ’benchmark guitar’. In other words it is so good, that it sets a standard for even other Brück guitars. Dammann had such a guitar built in 1995 that he considered so perfect he used it as a benchmark guitar and compared other guitars he made for many years to this guitar as in ‘it’s like the 95’ meaning it really ‘hit the mark’. This new guitar by Michel is such a guitar and I have been blessed to play many of his instruments over the years.

The guitar has a lovely voice, no doubt influenced by Michel’s many years curating and caring for guitars built by the old masters in Europe, Fleta, Hauser, Simplicio and others. He also began building a Hauser style solid top fan braced guitar using the knowledge he gained from caring for these fine old vintage treasures. So it may not come as a surprise that some of this ‘old master’ voicing finds its way into his modern double tops. And this is blended with all the attributes players have come to expect in a world class double top as well: volume, projection, efficiency, wide dynamic range. A perfect blend of the old and new.

The craftsmanship is of the highest level, the French Polish is lovely, Rodgers tuners are beautiful and smooth as silk and feel very at home on a guitar of this quality. She comes in a Hiscox case.
