Another of Tom’s lovely guitars has found a new home, if you are seeking a Millennium please contact me…
Still miss Tom and our spirited discussions about guitar physics, design, and sound. He was passionate about building, it was his whole world, and his passing left a void in the guitar world that is still felt. Miss you old friend. Tom once shared with me that he ‘experimented wildly’ up until about 2004. Prior to that it was hit and miss, and some older guitars are great, others, perhaps not as much, but he felt he hit his stride in 2004 and built consistent guitars with great qualities from that point on. As this is a 2008 guitar, and Tom passed in April of that year, it would be one of the last guitars he would build, at the peak of his career. The guitar has been well cared for, though it does have one noticeable string ding below the bridge, but otherwise lovely, Tom used exotic woods as he was want to do, and the voice is typical of the Millennium guitars, thick and creamy and yet powerful, and the Millennium style fingerboard really is as close to playing a cutaway as we Classical players can get, really nice. I know someone looking for a great Millennium will love this one.
