I have enjoyed the fact that within the past few months I had a Hauser l, a Hauser ll, and now a Hauser lll all in the shop within weeks of each other, and in that sequence too, how cool…
The Hauser name needs no introduction of course, and the guitars of l,ll, and lll are different in many ways. Yes the thread that binds them together is the Hauser legacy and the passing of guitar building knowledge from father to son, followed by the son adding his own interpretation.
Each generation has its fans and for those who are fans of Hauser lll this guitar will not disappoint. The guitar has a very comfortable action and you can hear the lineage in her tone. I find her to be surprisingly ‘warm’ sounding for a Spruce guitar so I think she will appeal to spruce lovers as well as cedar lovers.
Hermann Hauser lll confirmed that the Spruce top on this guitar was obtained by Joseph Hauser in 1890! How is that for an ‘aged’ Spruce top?
If HH l and HHll are beyond your budget, this could be a great choice…..
