I have always enjoyed it when one of Jeff’s guitars arrives in the shop, which is not frequent enough! Jeff has a superb reputation for his meticulous craftsmanship and lovely sound, and his instruments are hard to find, especially Cedar/Brazilian ones like this, so I am happy to help find a new home for this instrument.

The guitar is in absolute mint condition, it looks like it just came from Jeff’s shop, not a mark or imperfection to be found, The Rodgers tuners have lovely engraved plates and kidney buttons offsetting his beautiful headstock that is veneered on both front and back. The Western Red Cedar Soundboard is top grade wood, as is the lovely figured old growth Brazilian Rosewood he used for the back and sides. The guitar comes in a very nice Leona case as well. The whole ‘package’ is flawless.

As always the tone is the most important aspect, no matter how well crafted the guitar may be, and this guitar pleases the ear from the first note. By a stroke of luck a very fine player happened to be visiting the shop when this arrived and I was able to sit back and hear it played as if I was in the audience. The tone was rich and lush and I could appreciate Jeff’s open harmonic bar design and how he uses it to enhance the sound. The neck is shaped very comfortably in fact it reminded me of a Romanillos I recently sold.

It is rare to find an Elliott for sale, even more rare to find a Cedar/Brazilian one for sale, and even rarer still to find one in flawless new condition like this. If you are a fan of Jeff’s work as so many of us are, this may be the one for you.
