Michel’s fame as one of the best double top builders in the world continues to expand, and with good reason, and accounts for his 10+ year waiting list. I rarely have the pleasure of a pre owned one in the shop, so this is a real treat, especially since I have a particular fondness for Spruce double tops.

 

The workmanship is of the highest level, fit and finish is flawless as is Michel’s artistic eye, with the result that his instruments are at once, beautifully built, beautiful to look at, and beautiful to hear. In this case matching a fine set of Spruce, with stunning Rosewood back and sides from Michel’s exceptional selection of fine woods, and Rodgers tuners, a 20th half fret, elevated fingerboard, and exquisite French Polish of Shellac, all wrapped in a Hiscox case.

 

This instrument, as at home in your living room, as on the concert stage, can be both intimate, as well as powerful, you choose, she will give you whatever you ask for. A lovely articulate Spruce voice enhanced by the tonal combination with the fine Rosewood back and sides, with superior clarity and separation of the voices and the level of dynamic range and power/projection only achieved in the finest double tops.
