Jakob is, in my opinion, one of the top double top builders in the world, joining the ranks of Dammann, Brück, Redgate, D. Mueller at the very highest level of the specialized art of the double top guitar. Not surprisingly his wait list is now around 10 years as word spreads about his incredible guitars. This guitar just arrived and is no doubt among the finest double tops I have played, and I am fortunate to get to play many many very fine double tops, so I do not say that easily.

The guitar is very bold and powerful with great presence, “you ‘will’ take notice of me” she seems to say. In my facebook post about her I describe her as being as light as a feather, as powerful as a cannon and as sweet as a violin. Notes are lively, clear, bold and yet even though she has the desirable voice of a modern double top, she gives you just enough old world charm to flirt with you and capture your heart.

The craftsmanship is ’standard setting’ in its perfection, and the French Polish is impeccable. The Klaus Scheller tuners are simple, modern and elegant while being smooth as silk. The guitar comes in a custom CC case made just for lebisch with a lush burgundy interior that showcases Jakobs signature, and is protected by a custom fit neoprene case cover with shoulder straps.
