I have the good fortune to see/hear/sell more Dammann guitars than anybody in the world, and over the years I have noticed a trend towards his Spruce composite tops. While the majority of players are still playing Cedar, his Spruce versions are luscious and the tonal character of the Spruce combined with his latest core system is creating some of the most amazing Dammann’s I have heard, spruce lovers will freak out, and even Cedar lovers are being wooed as well. In fact Pablo Sainz Villegas just completed a new recording for Sony playing two Dammann’s, one Spruce and one Cedar which I am very much looking forward to hearing. Hearing the two styles side-by-side will be incredible.
