As the only dealer in the world that represents Jose and Liam Romanillos, I have had the good fortune of offering many special instruments built both by father, and son. My love of their instruments is no secret if you have read my musings on them in posts over the many years I have worked them. They are, simply stated, the finest, most beautiful, most refined and most heart wrenchingly soulful Spruce fan braced guitars existing on planet Earth. Bar none.

If you have tried to find a really great Jose Romanillos guitar you already know this is a nearly impossible task. Owners are simply not inclined to give them up, they are more likely to become heirlooms and stay within families. And rightly so. And so it is with great pleasure that I offer my clients the opportunity to acquire one of the rarest and most desired guitars on the planet, “La Toribia” lovingly hand crafted by Jose in honor of his mother.

The guitar presents in original condition, no cracks, no repairs and only light ‘marks’ from its years of loving ownership by former owners, really in remarkable well cared for condition. The current owner replaced the frets, and upgraded the tuners to a fine set of Silver Rodgers tuners, otherwise she is just as Jose built her. The top is the famous flawlessly aged European Spruce, the back and sides of well aged Brazilian Rosewood. One can imagine that Jose, thinking of his mother when he built this, would have selected his very best woods.

Along with the guitar comes a copy of Jose Romanillos Journal entry about the guitar, as well as a letter from Jose himself ( see photos ) discussing this particular guitar.

The guitar has the lovely ‘essence’ found in the voice of Romanillos guitar, always lovely, always stirring, always intimate.

A fine, and well documented Jose Romanillos for the discerning player or collector.
