1996 Robert Ruck “Short Scale”
Top; Spruce/fan braced
Back and sides: Ziricote
As Robert’s exclusive dealer for many years I got to know both Bob and his guitars very very well. Little wonder he was always considered the most iconic US builder, his guitars are treasured by many including some notable artists.
This guitar is special in several ways, first it is a great Ruck, in excellent and well cared for condition. Second, it is a rare Ruck ’short scale’, and third, and also rare, the back and sides are of Ziricote.
As far as Ruck guitars go this is exactly what lovers of his instruments seek, a bit of Spanish character but with more modern attributes. Lovely Spruce voice, very balanced. The combination of an excellent shaped neck and the 640 scale make it unbelievably comfortable to play, more like Flamenco ease action, truly excellent. Finally the gorgeous Ziricote back and sides, not common on Ruck guitars, but one of my all time favorite woods, lends to the beautiful tone, as well as to the magnificent appearance of this elegant guitar.
A rare and delightful treat…
