2002 Casimiro Lozano
Back and sides: Rosewood
I visited Casimiro Lozano at his shop in Spain and spent a day or two watching him build and of course sharing tapas and wine. I left with the understanding that he is a passionate builder who loves what he does and who is very proud of the instruments he creates. I have been placing his guitars with my clients since about the time this guitar was built.
This instrument is in fine condition save for some playing wear and marks that hint at its 20 year age, but during those 20 years the Spruce top has had time to age, mature, and play in nicely so that it has a rich beautiful Spruce Spanish voice.
Back and sides are of Brazilian Rosewood and that combined with the well played in Spruce top give it a mature warmth missing sometimes in newer Spruce guitars.
A nice Lozano for anyone who loves Spanish character and Spruce voices.
