I think Phillip Woodfield builds perhaps the best Spruce/Lattice on the planet, he is just a master of Spruce and Spruce is a challenge. A builder really has to ‘understand’ Spruce to build with it well, and Phil has made a successful career out of understanding Spruce. This guitar is typical of his lovely sounding Spruce/Lattice guitars. As I have noted here before Scott Tennant of the LA Guitar Quartet obtained his Spruce/Lattice Woodfield ’Natalie’ from me and has been recording and touring with it for many years. In fact just last week I was speaking with Andrew York as I assist him in obtaining his own Spruce/Lattice Woodfield in just a couple weeks. That is the level of artist that loves the tone that Philip creates in his instruments.

This guitar is in near new condition, and has a standard fingerboard and 20th half fret, as well as the added bonus of a sound port with a wood cover.

The tone is typical Woodfield, lovely, focused, clear, and yet bold without being ’strident’, wonderful.
