Out of all the incredible double tops I get to play, from the best Luthiers all over the world, I consistently find my personal favorites are the Spruce ones, as great as the Cedar ones are, there is just something exquisite about a Spruce double top. In talking to Matthias Dammann about it one day, who also loves Spruce ones, he suggested that it may be because a double top wants a soundboard with superb cross grain stiffness, and Spruce has a greater cross grain stiffness than Cedar. Whatever the reason, I am a huge fan of Jim’s guitars, a huge fan of his double tops, and especially his Spruce double tops, so this one is a real treat.

The guitar is in 99% new condition, with only the slightest very faint hint of a couple string marks on the top that can barely be seen, otherwise looks like it did the same day my client bought it new from me in 2014. Great sounding double top from one of the worlds best builders.

I am representing this guitar for the family of my client as he sadly passed away, otherwise he never would have sold this guitar. A guitar cared for with love and looking for a new home.
