Fritz has been making lovely composite (double) tops for years up in Canada and I recall a very well known concert artist visiting my shop once and stating that of all the guitars he played that day the Mueller was his favorite. Nice. This one has a spruce outer skin and a cedar inner skin, the builders theory being that you obtain the tonal character of both woods blended. Volume and projection are great, and playability with the elevated fret board is similarly impressive. The Graf tuners are superb as always. Fritz also added a single sound port which many players enjoy, providing a somewhat ‘stereophonic’ effect for the player. A fine double top at what I consider to be a very reasonable price. There are a few light string marks mainly below the bridge, nothing too obvious, and some light dulling of the French Polish Shellac where the arm rests on the top, back and sides are lacquer and look great too.
