Manuel is a well known and established builder who has his shop in Madrid. For many years he also worked side-by-side in the shop of legendary Arcangel Fernandez. So it is not surprising that his guitars, while definitely having their own character, are also very very similar to those of Arcangel Fernandez. The last time I visited Madrid they were both at Arcangel’s shop, but later Manuel walked me over to his own shop and showed me several of his fine guitars. This instrument is exactly what I remember from that time. A cross between say a Marin Montero and an Arcangel in some ways, but pure ‘Caceres’ in others. Lovely craftsmanship, flawless French Polish of Shellac and a voice that is quintessentially “Spanish” in flavor all combine to bring the Spanish Guitar to its nicest level in this guitar. Lovely sounding instrument indeed. In flawless ‘like new’ condition too…
