Every time one of Bob’s amazing instruments arrives in the shop I miss him, now 5 years since he left us. He lives on in his amazing guitars however and this is one of the most special examples of his guitars I have had in the shop. This guitar, as the label states clearly, was made for my client and Bob’s good friend, Ron Durie. Being that the guitar was built for his good friend, and Ron had given him carte blance to go ‘all out’ on this guitar, Bob did exactly that.

Bob’s wife Cheri was nice enough to provide me with the spec sheet details for this guitar from Bob’s ledger, thank you Cheri!!!

Bob spared no expense or effort and the guitar is simply SPECTACULAR sounding.

He selected a special soundboard of fine Western Red Cedar that he had at the time, and used one of my favorite Rosette’s of his too, just lovely. The back is in outer layer of stunning Brazilian Rosewood with an inner layer of Indian Rosewood, while the sides are an out layer of lovely Madagascar Rosewood and an inner layer of Teak. The tone of this combination is exquisite.

Bob then added an elevated fingerboard, a fine set of Rodgers tuners and capped the headstock in some gorgeous Ziricote. To top it all off the guitar comes in a custom fit Karura carbon fiber case.

the guitar is in near new condition, a string ding and a few unobjectionable marks aside.
