This fine Blanca has found a new home, the Maestro may not be building as many guitars as he once did, but he is certainly building the finest of his career, if you are interested in owning a Marin, please give me a call to chat…
When I was in Spain recently I discussed the building of this guitar with Antonio. I requested an old well aged Spruce soundboard, and fine Cypress for the back and sides, a larger than usual golpeadore, and an elegant rosewood accent strip along the back. It was quite a wait, the maestro is quite busy these days and is building in my opinion the best guitars of his career. But eventually she arrived and she is a beauty. He used a gorgeous rosette as well. This Marin Blanca is elegant, musical, refined, and yet Flamenco, she can ‘pop’ or sing, and the voice is melodic and somewhat haunting when played lightly, but crisp and taught when you push her. Another great, and increasingly rare, Blanca by the master of Granada. The other aspect of this guitar that is immediately noticeable is the extreme ease of play. Marin guitars are known for their ease of play, but this is ridiculously easy even for a Marin, simply effortless with no resistance at all, perfect for Flamenco. A dream Blanca by any standard and well worth the wait.
