I have often described Michels exquisite double top instruments as a Dammann mated with a Hauser ll. In other words they are noticably modern double top in sound and attributes, and yet the voice is strongly reminiscent of the old European Master Builders. Perhaps this is due to Michels vast experience maintaining some of the finest collections in Germany of the old masters guitars and the fact that for many years he built Hauser style instruments himself. Later, when he became enamored like so many of us, with the double top concept and all that it could add to the classical guitar, he somehow blended the modern with the traditional, and voila: the Michel Brück double top was born. This Spruce double top represents the ever evolving nature of Michels guitars, who like all fine builders, seek to improve with every new instrument. The trebles are clear and musical and very even, the first string very balanced while the basses are robust without overpowering, a beautiful and musical balance that inspires one to think of poetry and music. Really beautiful Spruce Double Top. The Rodgers tuners are elegant and smooth, the elevated fret board aids in playability, and the workmanship and finish is world class. A superior double top by any measure.
