Well Phil did it again, as usual. He is a supremely consistent builder, they are just always amazing. Having just delivered Andrew York his new Woodfield GC ll (Grand Concert ll) the sound of his guitar is still fresh in my memory, and this guitar could be it’s tonal sister, they sound very very similar. Rather than try to describe the tone with words, just listen to any recording or youtube video of Scott Tennant playing his GC ll and you’ll understand instantly whey players the caliber of Scott and Andy love these guitars.
Phil added a 20th half fret, as usual the GC ll sound board ( see photos ) is offset on the treble side providing an elevated fret board there, while maintaining the familiar view from the bass side, a twelve hole tie block and his unique hand scribed rosette and tie block design with his elegant ‘double helix’ design flowing down the center strip of the back.
Truly a work of art visually and aurally
Scott Tennant and Andrew York with their Woodfield GCll guitars
