2018 Collings OM 1 SB Traditional Series

This guitar is in beautiful mint ‘as new’ condition and totally upgraded. The OM 1 body size, one of Collings most popular, with a lovely Sunburst finish on the top. This is the ’Traditional Series’ model with the pre war scalloped X bracing, no tongue brace, and animal protein glue ( hide glue style ), a fully adjustable truss rod, and the thinner finish. The Traditional series has an incredible ‘played in/vintage’ sound. This guitar is enhanced in that way even further in that it has the ‘Baked’ Sitka Spruce Top. This is Collings term for ’Torrefication’ which is most often a process of heating the soundboard to a high temperature in a no oxygen environment. This causes molecular and structural changes within the wood that exactly mimic aging for many years and which gives the soundboard a very vintage played in sound. In addition the guitar has an onboard passive pickup, a jack/strap button, and a properly placed strap button on the heel. In addition, this guitar comes with the superb hand made custom Collings cases, which sell individually for nearly $1,000. This exact guitar, in new condition but without the electronics can be found on other sites for $6500. A superb Collings at a superb price.
